Mica Powder

Mica Powder in various forms is obtained by grinding/breaking mica scrap, which is a slow, costly and extremely complicated process, because of the scrap being tough and having a plate like structure. Meticulous care and precaution has to be taken so that there is no deterioration of its natural brilliance, colour and properties. Sun Minerals offer a suitable range of pure and stable mica powder that is a typical lamellar particle structure. This structure proves to be beneficial wherever a high rate of resistance against chemicals, heat and ultra violet light is required. Mica powder therefore is widely used in paint industry. Our factories are fully equipped with latest different pulverisers for processing varieties of mica powder.

Some of the advantages of mica powder are as follows:

  • Ideal for external paint and anti-corrosion paints
  • It promotes a matt finish
  • Acts as an anti-cracking agent
  • Helps to control paint flow
  • Enhances scrub resistance
